Florence-Top Place to visit in Autumn

Florence is at the heart of Tuscany, Italy and is the home of the finest art and architectural works. It is known as the birthplace of Italian Renaissance. Among the best places to visit in Florence is the “Duomo,” the dome of the Basilica di Santa Maria del Fiore that dominates aerial view of the city of Florence. The dome was created initially by Brunelleschi in the 15th century and was completed by Michelozzo after his death. Near the cathedral are the Campanille tower and the octagonal Battistero di San Giovanni, which is believed to be the oldest building in the city. It is famous for its splendid bronze doors with panels depicting scenes from Old and New Testament. The doors were designed by several famous Italian artists and are in themselves impressive masterpieces.

 Venice - unforgettable city

October is a transitional month, before the arrival of the truly cold winter. The acqua alta season is under way so there may be some flooding during exceptionally high tides (around a full or new moon). Visitors will want to bring warm clothing, especially for the evenings, although layering is probably the key. Venice is a university town so you may notice gaggles of new students outside Dorsoduro bars.

Saint Mark’s Campanile was the symbol of Venice

Saint Mark’s Campanile
Saint Mark’s Campanile was the symbol of Venice. Immense bell towers at Piazza Sans Marco are ninety eight meters tall & belong to popular basilica of same name. The Origins of Campanile dates to ninth Century while it has been used as watchtower for the nearby dock. On 1902, this tower has been demolished & was rebuilt ten years later. Today Campanile has 5 bells that sounds every hour & could be heard all over the city. Particularly appealing is an opportunity to climb over the tower & enjoy magnificent view along city, sea and surrounding landscape which reaches to the Alps.
